Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1/3 cup beef broth
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon white sugar
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
Instructions:
- In a large skillet or saucepan, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat if needed.
- Add beef broth, tomato sauce, ketchup, chili powder, salt, pepper, white sugar, and onion powder to the skillet with the cooked ground beef. Stir well to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Simmer uncovered for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Taste the hot dog chili and adjust the seasonings to your preference. Add more chili powder for extra heat or more sugar to balance the flavors if desired.
- Continue to simmer the chili for another 5-10 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Remove the hot dog chili from the heat and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
